Reports have come in that facebook is planning on launching a new instant messaging service in the near future.  This will allow users to spend even more time on facebook by being able to communicate, in real time, with their facebook friends.  However what does this mean for other services such as social.im?  Social.im, which was founded by Lucas Ryan and Yan-David [Yanda] Erlich, provides a very similar service.  Some reports stated that facebook was going to buy social.im, but according to a post on Valleywag, “If we’re being bought, I haven’t gotten the call yet,” says Mogad CEO Yanda Erlich.”
